In the shade....
Following on from the last post on "popover" shade making.....a very old, damaged, French toile pelmet produced two shades, an applique cushion and three pictures.....
The little lavender pillow in the basket made from vintage toile and quilt fabric came from the lovely Jo at Hesta Nesta
What was left of a vintage drawstring bag produced this little shade....
Whilst a damaged petticoat produced another shade from the pretty embroidered bottom edge.....
Why not have a go.....easy....honest!

You keep showing me all these lovely things that I want to rush off and make ..... but I MUST get on with all those half finished things for next months Christmas Fair!
ReplyDeleteThey're so cute - I love the first, red, shade! And the petticoat one would be adorable in a little girl's room :)
ReplyDeleteI love all your french fabrics (I am also a great fan of anything french!) your lampshades are so pretty. Just found your blog and I will be looking forward to reading more.

Julie I love your lamp shade covers, especially the first one in the dark red - gorgeous!! I am always amazed at just how far vintage fabrics can stretch, even the smallest of pieces can be used.

I love your choice of fabrics. The red and white combo is lush.
ReplyDeleteMmmm....
