Silver plate and new pieces.....

Some new acquisitions for the Fairs this week include..... two good quality silver plated  tea sets,.the one on the left is made for Mappin and Webb with initials RL in a cartouche, the other has lovely relief detail.
Both need polishing, as I think they have sat unused in a cupboard for years.

A boxed set of fish knives and forks (also to polish ), a length of pretty floral, vintage linen by Warner...

And the cutest print of a child and horse signed and dated 1914....

With the sweetest caption.....

'OU TAN HAVE A BITE HORSIE

All together now....aaahhh!

A pretty hand painted teaset with nice big tea cups and a length of floral barkcloth that I will make into cushions.

Finally, two large, satin cushion covers with ruched edge and quilting detail.

Very boudoir..ish don't you think.....?

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the week and a big hello to all my new followers....thank you!

  4. Hello Julie

It's so sad to think of people having beautiful things that sit in cupboards and are rarely used.
I suppose it's the old idea of keeping something for best. I hope, whoever buys your silver will use it often. After all, why not make every day a little special.

  10. I quite enjoy polishing silver and brass, it is very satisfying. I am sure you don't think so, when you have a load of it? Perhaps you should sell the set with RL on it to Ralph Lauren? Good luck this weekend, love Linda x
